Frequently asked questions

Where are you based?

One Off is based in Wandsworth, South West London – but we can deliver anywhere in the UK.

Can I visit your studio?

Yes – you’re welcome to visit. We do keep you updated on progress of work at regular stages by email but you may wish to see the way we work first hand.

Can my artwork be based on more than one photograph?

Yes. We produce group portraits – these can be composed from a selection of individual photos if required. We also create non-portraiture work – collages for example – that use multiple source materials such as maps, tickets and other paraphernalia.

My photographs aren’t very good, can you still create a portrait?

Yes we can always do something. Generally speaking, however, the better the photograph the more options we have for how we can use it. We’ll suggest that we shoot a new photograph if we believe that it will lead to a much better end result.

Can you turn an old black and white photograph into a colour portrait?

Yes. We use a combination of digital and manual techniques in most of our work, so colouring an old photograph is not a problem.

What is the turnaround time for the work?

Because we’re a small team, this depends on how busy we are. On average you should allow between 3 – 4 weeks from placing your order to receiving the finished work.

Can changes be made if I don’t like it?

Of course. We send you work in progress by email so that you can comment and tell us about any changes you want us to make during the creative process. We email you a high resolution image of the work on completion and you can still make minor alterations at this point. It’s important to us that you’re 100% satisfied with your commission and are proud to display it.

What is the cost for a One Off artwork?

Because we offer such a wide range of artistic styles and media, it’s very difficult to pinpoint a price before we know what you’re looking for. Size and frame type will also have a bearing on cost. We highly recommend meeting to discuss your requirements – with absolutely no obligation – and fully explain the different options available and the costs involved. As a guide, our charge for a completed, framed work can be anything from £500 to £5,000.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. One Off requires a 50% non-refundable deposit before we start working on your artwork.

Do you charge for delivery?

The price we quote for your work is the total including packing and delivery.
